Interactions Discovery Core
Director: Jacek Skowronski with collaborative effort from Michael Washburn (at the Stowers Institute)
The Interactions Discovery core, housed within the lab of Dr. Jacek Skowronski, at Case Western Reserve University, applies a combination of biochemical and proteomic approaches to identify cellular proteins and protein complexes with which HIV-1 proteins interact during early post-entry events. The Core is fully equipped to perform all the tasks necessary for the identification of functionally relevant complexes of viral and cellular proteins. Additionally, the Core has extensive experience with biochemical validation of protein-protein interactions by co-IP and mutant protein analysis, as well as functional validation using a variety of cell-based and virologic assays, including RNAi-based approaches in cell lines and in primary human monocytic cells.
